Cover Revisions

Here are revisions which I based off of the feedback that I got today in class. If you still think that I need to work on anything specific, let me know before I print. Thanks!

ps- I'm not sure why the MERGE one is so small here, but the ai file is 8x10.75

Layer: This is nice. Image is beautiful, colors are great. Centered text works well, and your features are handled much better.

I'm not crazy about how the prices are handled. The stacking doesnt' quite work, and it draws attention to the fact that the decimals don't align. I'd consider running them on one line, and separating them with a vertical slash perhaps.

Merge: Your colors work well here. I'm not crazy about the way the rule cuts across the butterfly in the art...feels awkward.

Again, same with the price. The stack doesn't quite work.

I'm also a bit concerned that the large bold orange area is overwhelming your cover image, which is quite delicate. Do you have any other options?

Good work so far, take a closer look at Merge. Layer is pretty close.

Both of these are AWESOME covers!! You're just fine tuning at this point.. here are some thoughts..

Layer:
It's an amazing cover except for the busyness that happens at the bottom right side of the page. It's a little too crowded down there.. work on making it less obvious (make it disappear).

Merge:
I agree with all Ryan's suggestions. I'm wondering if you can enlarge the illustration without making the composition too busy??

I'm wondering how it'd look if the orange bar on the bottom wasn't so big.. having it there help to balance the color on the cover but maybe it'd work better if it's smaller.

I think you could keep the rule but make it smaller (so that it doesn't intersect the illustration). it really anchors the masthead and tagline in the top right corner but you might try to shorten the other sides of each line (let me know if this is confusing and you need some clarification).
